Enter a world of images - moments captured in time.

Some may look familiar, but remember, once taken, a photographic image locks a moment of time that is never repeated.

I hope you enjoy viewing the selection on my web site.

As part of the preparations for Aarhus 2017, a glass container was positioned by the harbour at Ringkøbing for a week. The theme for Aarhus 2017 is Rethink. I have made a light sculpture in the shape of an inverted ?. Here is is: Rethink - look at things from a new perspective.

Lyserød Lørdag -

Pink Saturday

It's that nipple again!
4th October 2014, Hvide Sande.
As part of a fundraising day for Cancer Research I re-"installed" a nipple on top of the town's highest point, - the remains of a second world war bunker on the top of a sand dune.

(Previously installed for Lyserød Lørdag on the 8th of October 2011.)

SEPTEMBER 2013 "KULTURNAT"

"Kulturnat" in Videbæk, Denmark. I created a light installation for the evening.

LEIGH ART TRAIL 2013, England
As part of this annual event I exhibited with three other artists. We exhibited at the “Bottom of the Garden Gallery.” This small building, originally the Old School House, tucked away at the bottom of a garden became home to ‘The Danish Collection’. Four artists with connections to Denmark exhibited art of differing mediums and styles, including sculpture in the garden. A visit to this venue was a real treat.

The other artists who exhibited with me were Ida Trier, Karen Christensen and Simon Kirk.

BIG BROTHER

CULTURE NIGHT in Hvide Sande, Denmark.

Sunday 14th October
5.00 p.m. to 11.00 p.m.

The theme for the evening was "Fish".
I installed a light sculpture inside the 'Cyklus' art work that stands by the bridge in the centre of town. I called the installation "If we don't look after our planet - it won't look after us."
There were numerous other 'events' during the evening at a number of different locations.

Kunst i Slusen / ART HVIDE SANDE

After several years showing the works of Danish artists, in 2012 this annual event held in Hvide Sande showed the work of a group of English artists from Leigh on Sea, England.
This chance to see the works of a group of highly renowned artists from a town that the press has dubbed “the St Ives of the East”, was a rare opportunity for Hvide Sande and art lovers in West Jutland.  During the course of the exhibition both local artists and residents were able to meet the artists and discuss their work, creating network opportunities for local Danish artists and art groups.
The event attracted over 5000 visitors.
I was the Curator and Co-ordinator for this year's exhibition.

KUNSTNERNES SOMMERUDSTILLING 2011

This is one of only 4 juried art exhibitions in Denmark that are approved by the State. Acceptance to one of these juried exhibitions is fiercely contended with large numbers of entries. Success gains a point that eventually, if you get enough, gives you recognition by the state as an artist.

I had two of my works accepted for this years' exhibition at the Janus Building, Tistrup Denmark. There were over 2.300 works submitted.

Both pictures sold at the exhibition. Further copies are available - limited edition of 12 prints only.

SITE SPECIFIC INSTALLATION AT HVIDE SANDE, DENMARK.
8th Ocotber 2011
In connection with a fund raising day by the local Cancer Research
group I "installed" a nipple on top of the town's highest sand dune. The remains of a second world war bunker provided the perfect base for the nipple. It was so popular that I was asked to leave it up for the whole weekend.

LYSERØD LØRDAG
8 Okt. 2011 Hvide Sande, Danmark.

Copenhagen December 2009.

Danish sculptor Jens Galschiot and his art workshop hung some 20 kilometres of blinking red lights up at a height of 7 meters during the Climate Conference. 7 metres is the increase in height of sea levels globally that would result if all the ice in Greenland melted. By hanging the lights up, Galschiot was drawing attention to the potential climate catastrophe that we are heading towards.
See: www.sevenmeters.net for more info.

In support of this action I installed some blinking red lights in Hvide Sande, at 7 metres above sea level. I positioned them above an existing marker that shows previous sea flood levels in the town.

Norways' first 'Pop-Up' gallery?

In December 2005 I opened a gallery in Norway.
Galleri Ælva was housed in a building in the 'artists' quarter of Porsgrunn, Norway. I hired the venue for a short period before Christmas 2005, and invited three other artists to join me in exhibiting work.

Where do you live?

What does it look like?

Do you live alone or as part of a community?
For a weekend I organised an event where sculptures and installations were installed in the front gardens of an ordinary residential street.

AUGUST 2013
"BØLGEN" - "The Wave"

Over 15,000 people visited Hvide Sande for the opening of this regional festival in Jutland, Denmark. Inspired by Hokusai's "The Great Wave", I had created a massive wave made out of fish crates.

'Se Lyset' - "West Jutland Light"
June to August 2014

To coincide with the 'Se Lyset' theme of the ART HVIDE SANDE Artist Colony I built a 'viewing house' for visitors to see for themselves what it is when artists talk about that 'special light'. Visitors were encouraged to enter the building, sit down, relax, take their time and enjoy the 'light'.
This art installation was constructed with plastic fishing crates, borrowed from the town's fish auction rooms.

See the blog on www.westjutlandlight.tumblr.com.

ART HVIDE SANDE Artist Colony 2014

Artists in Hvide Sande from 1st to 27th June. Exhibition from 3rd to 15th August.

As artistic co-ordinator of the non-profit organisation Kunst i Slusen ART HVIDE SANDE, I was responsible for choosing artists for our Artist Colony project. From the many applications six artists were selected to stay in Hvide Sande during June. With the theme "Lyset" - "The Light", they were inspired by the wonderful light out here on the West Coast of Jutland, Denmark, and produced artworks for the annual exhibition in August. Follow the project on Facebook, look for 'ART HVIDE SANDE' or see the web site: www.kunstislusen.dk
